Patok (dextrinmaltosis, maltodextrin) is an incomplete acid product (diluted acids) or enzymatic starch hydrolysis. It is formed as a by-product in the production of sugar and starch.Maltodextrin is called a vegetable extract, which includes glucose, malt sugar and oligosaccharides. It is enzymaticly split starch, its splitting is already beginning in the esophagus at low speed, which provides gradual admission to the glucose organism and does not lead to gastric complications (compared to the reception of the same amount of glucose). Thus, maltodextrin (dextrinmaltosis, or starch), being a product of partial cleavage of starch to dextrins (smaller elements) and, in turn, cleaving to glucose, serves as a good source of energy for the body. Maltodextrin is a white or cream-colored powder with a pleasant sweet taste, soluble well in water. Thanks to its properties, it is widely used in the food industry and pharmacology, in the preparation of nutritional mixtures for infants.
