$/pcsWeingut Muller Gruner Veltliner Ried Gottschelle Kremstal is an amazing dry white wine from the autochthonous Gruner Veltliner variety grown on old vines in the Wachau Valley, Kremstal DAC. The harvest is harvested manually from the Gottschelle vineyard at the foot of the Gottweiger Berg. The origin of the name "Gottschelle" has not been fully revealed: perhaps it refers to the dialect of the foothills of the Alps, where "Goetschen" describes the sharp edge of the ridge. This place was first mentioned as "Gotschalich" in 1341. The vines are up to 50 years old and always produce a rich Grüner Veltliner. First of all, the rich loess soil supports the ripening of grapes in this terroir. In mid-November, only the best bunches of grapes were collected for Grüner Veltliner Gottschelle. Fermentation took place in a steel tank at a controlled temperature until mid-January. Then the wine was aged on the lees. The family estate is located in the Kremstal wine region. Vineyards with an area of 90 hectares are spread out on the hills around the Benedictine monastery of Gottwiger in the Danube Valley near Wachau. The company's philosophy is the cultivation of grapes and the production of wine in harmony with nature, correctly using the characteristics of each vineyard. This approach ensures that the grapes ripen to an ideal state, which makes it the basis for elegant red and white wines.
