Description

The mountain bird (Knotweed) (Polýgonum aviculáre) is an annual herbaceous plant that grows everywhere (except in the Arctic), is unpretentious, and recovers quickly. It has astringent, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anti-putrefactive and diuretic properties. Increases immunity; reduces: bleeding of mucous membranes, crystallization of mineral salts (urinary tract), increases the excretion of sodium and chlorine from the body. Contains: flavonoids (avicularin and quercetin), vitamins C (up to 0.9%), K, E, carotene, silicic acid, resins, bitterness, mucus, fats, carbohydrates, tannins, etc. Methods of application and preparation. Infusion: 3 tablespoons of raw materials pour 200 ml of boiling water, heat in a water bath for 15 minutes, cool (45 minutes), strain, bring the volume to 200 ml. Take 70-200 ml, 2-3 times a day before meals. Decoction: raw materials in a ratio of 1:10 are poured with water (20-25C), heated in a water bath for 30 minutes, cooled, filtered. Take 1 tbsp. l. – 3 times a day. For rheumatism, gout, hemorrhoids – 100 ml of broth – 3 times a day. It is used in many collections and decoctions (in combination with other herbs, roots). Contraindications: individual intolerance, acute diseases of the kidneys and genitourinary system, bronchitis, low blood pressure, varicose veins and thrombosis, pregnancy and lactation, children. During the period of taking knotweed, it is not recommended to use onions and garlic.
