Basic information
The Perovsky Estate winery was founded in 1834 by Nikolai Perovsky. The total area of vineyards at the moment is 240 Hectares (of which 15 hectares were planted in 2016, and 20 Hectares – in 2017). The average yield does not exceed 3 tons of grapes per 1 hectare. The age of the old vineyards is 17-25 years old, the young ones have been planted since 2012. About 10-30 hectares of planting are created every year. Cultivated red varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Franc. White: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling. The main idea of the farm is to maximize the use of the terroir's capabilities, without switching to drip irrigation. The soils in the vineyards of the Perovsky Estate are diverse – partly limestone with inclusions of the alluvial layer, partly clay. Also important is the combination of factors that create a unique terroir of the region: soil, climate and relief.
