The tradition of rolling balls of laban in spices exists almost as much as the cheese itself. Initially, a mixture with black cumin and coriander was used for this, but later new seasonings were added: the laban was rolled in Provencal herbs, paprika, sesame, thyme, basil. The name of the cheese comes from Hebrew, where a similar—sounding word means “white” - a properly cooked laban is just this color. Interestingly, the consistency of laban cheese also depends on the cooking time: a soft creamy spread is ready in twelve hours, and a thicker cheese from which you can form balls — in a day or more. Ingredients: cottage cheese, butter, sugar, salt, complex food additive (carob gum), acidity regulator (citric acid), sweet paprika. Filling: vegetable oil, garlic, spices. Shelf life: 40 days. Store at a temperature from 0 °C to 6 ° C before and after opening the package.
